Green frog
Green frog is a term that can refer to various frogs inhabiting different parts of the world:
- Pelophylax, a true frog genus of the Old World
- Specifically, the Edible Frog (P. kl. esculenta), the most common Pelophylax of Europe
- Rana clamitans, a true frog species of North America, also known as Bronze Frog
- Litoria aurea, a Hylidae ("true tree frog") species of Australia, also known as Green and Golden Bell Frog, Green Bell Frog or Green and Golden Swamp Frog
- In a non-scientific context, a "green frog" may be any green frog species, in particular tree-climbing members of the Hylidae, who are often vividly green all over as a means of camouflage in their habitat.
